Joyce Ann Robinson

We are sad to announce the passing of a beloved mother, grandmother to great-great grandmother Joyce Ann Robinson of Aztec, NM. She passed away at the age of 79 on April 16th, 2024. She was born January 6, 1945 in Clovis, NM to Cecil Edward Johnson and Cleo P Ward. Her family later moved to Aztec, NM where she attended high school. After high school she met the love of her life Elmer E Robinson. They married June 21, 1962 and continued to reside in Aztec. They went on to have 3 children Angela, Sandy, and Mitchell Robinson. Joyce was best known for her selfless love of everyone she encountered. Having nothing was no issue if the ones she loved were provided for. She had no enemy and knew no wrong in others. In 1980 she started her renowned law enforcement career where she enjoyed serving the public. She primarily served in the capacities of a jailer, dispatcher, warrants clerk, and NCIC. She retired from the San Juan County Sheriff’s Office after 25 plus years in 2010.

Joyce is survived by her 3 children Angela Villasenor & spouse Michael Villasenor, Sandy Robinson, Mitchell Robinson & wife Mary Robinson, 1 brother (Jimmy Johnson & spouse Darla Johnson) of Farmington, NM, 11 grandchildren (Mark, Mandy, Nikki, Michael, Jacob, Ashley, Trexton, Mason, Kilian, Harlo, Rigston) , and 13 great grandchildren (Aspen, Mersadie, Allison, Kashlyn, Kambree, Sage, Jayda, Kyros, Keely, Joseph, Emjay, Wade, Mika) and 1 great-great grandchild (Camila). The funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Aztec, NM (505 North Oliver Drive) on Monday April 22, 2024 at 11:00a.m.

Joyce was preceded in death by her spouse of 45 years (Elmer Robinson) in Dec. of 2007. Also, Preceded in death by 4 siblings; Jack Johnson of Bloomfield, NM, Darlene Edwards of Clovis, NM, Jesse Roth of Fresno, CA, and Louise Johnson of Flora Vista, NM.
