It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of longtime Farmington resident, Willie Stolworthy. The Lord took another angel home on April 24, 2024 in Yuma, Arizona at the age of 94. Willie was the firstborn to Chester Nelson Alexander and Ann Huffman on August 4, 1929 in Ojito, New Mexico. Her family grew with the addition of a sister, Augusta Alexander, and a brother, Joel Alexander.

Willie met the love of her life and married Carr Stolworthy in Kirtland, New Mexico on March 15, 1946. They were blessed with three children and were married for 73 years before Carr's passing in 2019. Willie spent her entire life in service to her church, her family, and to the community where she lived. Many will remember her work at the local LDS Bishops Store House with Carr and the Temple work in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Willie also was involved with the San Juan County Fair Board, the Farmington Museum Board, and the Green Lawn Cemetery Board.

Willie will be remembered for her work at the First National Bank main office, the Branch in Aztec and at the 20th street Branch where she retired after 24 years as Assistant Vice President and Bank Manager. She was also involved in national banking and financial institutes during her tenure with the First National Bank where she served terms as President in each organization.

With Carr's declining health, Willie and Carr moved to Yuma, Arizona to be closer to their daughter Sandra and Son-In-Law Nate Broadhead. She was able to see her Grand Daughter and her children in Yuma and take part in their activites with the local FFA, showing pigs at the fair, and baseball games.

Willie was preceded in death by her father Chester Alexander, her mother Ann Huffman Melton, her sister Augusta (Gussie) Sturdevant, her brother Joel (J.B.) Alexander, her daughter Beverly Henley, and Son-In-Law Larry Henley. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Broadhead (Nate), son Mark McAndrews (Linda), Granddaughter Kimbally Gardner (Stan), Tami Newby (Travis) and Amanda Bowen, Great-Grandchildren Natalie Rushmeyer, Taygen Newby, Tanner Newby, Ty Bowen, and Anika Bowen, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A public viewing will be held at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

The family viewing will be held at 9:15 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Knudsen Chapel located at 1310 E. 25th St., Farmington, New Mexico. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 AM with interment at Green Lawn Cemetery in Farmington.
