Carol Gene West-Adams, age 83 of Farmington, NM. passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, and went home to her Lord and Savior peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Carol was born in Hobart, OK. on August 12, 1940, to Max and Dorothy Worrell. She lived in Marlow, Lawton, Anadarko, Pensacola, OK., and moved to Frederick, OK. at the age of 12. She was swept off her feet by her first true love, Robert W. West. They married on July 19, 1956, and started their 44-year adventure. They came to Farmington, NM. in 1956 and all but a few years lived in the surrounding Farmington area where they raised two daughters, Becky and Stephanne.

They opened Jewel Box Pawn Shop in January 1972 prior to that Carol worked as a Bank Teller in Bloomfield, NM. for First National Bank. After Robert passed away in 2000, Carol found her second love Donald C. Adams. She gained a bonus family with his children and grandchildren. They had seventeen wonderful years together before his passing in 2020. Carol and Don enjoyed church activities and traveling.

Carol was known for her infectious laughter, her unwavering faith in the Lord, her love for her family and friends, and her love and zest for life. She was a pillar in her Emmanuel Baptist Church community. Outside of business and church life, Carol cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, G-Nana, and friend. She was always there to provide support to her loved ones.

Carol leaves behind an amazing legacy and so many will miss her but know she is where she wanted to be, with her Lord in Heaven. Although she is no longer with us, her memory will live on with everyone she knew.

Carol was preceded by in death by her parents, husbands Robert and Donald, son Robert Andrew West and granddaughter Courtney S. (Chavez) Wagner.

Surviving are her daughters, Becky (Wayne) Chavez, Stephanne (Greg) Coats. Grandchildren: Elizabeth (Mike) Dominick, Brynn Chavez, Lane (Courtney) Wagner, Kamber (Jason) Munson, Jeffrey (Leilani) Coats. Great Grandchildren: Audrey Dominick, Makenzie Cochran, Kaylie Cochran, Layla Wagner, Arabella Munson, Braden Munson, Riley Munson, Maeve Fellabaum, Phoster Coats and Tristan Coats.

Her brother, Max (Brenda) Worrell. Nephews: Max Worrell, Greg Worrell and Steve (Deedra) Worrell. Great niece: Logan Worrell.

Stepchildren: Don (Julia) Adams, Brett (Vickie) Adams, Shawn (Lavon) Adams and Terryn (Dana) Adams. Step Grandchildren: Gabriel Adams, Anya (Matt) Dawson, Daniel Adams, Rachel (Jeremiah) Hollis, Emily Adams, Dillon (Morgan) Adams, Lauren (Preston) McAtee, Audrey (Jeremy) Curry, Martha (Dominick) Neuqebauer and Terra Adams. Step Great-Grandchildren: Emma Brinson, Ayla Brinson, Joshua Dawson, Lucas Dawson, Elanora Hollis, Williams Hollis, Ezekiel Adams, Tobias Adams, Heidi Heuqebauer and Leonard Neuqebauer.

Visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7pm on Friday May 3, 2024, at Farmington Funeral Home, 2111 W. Apache St. Farmington, NM. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM, May 4, 2024, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 211 W. 20th St. Farmington, NM. Dr. David Brittain, officiating. Interment Greenlawn Cemetery, 1606 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington. A reception will follow interment services at the church. Serving as Pallbearers will be Greg Coats, Wayne Chavez, Max Worrell, Steve Worrell, Lane Wagner and Roger Worrell.
