Ski Apache opens ski shop in Ruidoso

Convenient location to purchase lift tickets, rent equipment and buy merchandise

The Ski Apache Ski Shop opened recently in Ruidoso. The 3,627 square-foot shop will offer Ski Apache skiers and riders a convenient location to purchase lift tickets, rent equipment and buy merchandise.

“We are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience. With the ski shop in town, folks can get their lift tickets and avoid lines at the resort,” said Ken Marlatt, director of operations at Ski Apache.

“They can rent equipment before heading up to Ski Apache and then return it on the mountain with their receipt. It's an added convenience we are thrilled to offer.”

Before it conversion to a ski shop, the building was used by a western wear business.

The shop is located in the former  Horseshoe Western Wear building at 1308 Sudderth Drive.

To celebrate its grand opening, the Ski Apache Ski Shop will participate in the Ruidoso Festival of Lights Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7. Festival-goers can stop by the shop for free frybread, cookies and hot cocoa beginning at 5:30 p.m.
