LAS CRUCES - The Bureau of Land Management has launched its annual photo contest and this year's theme is all about social distancing.

The BLM "Picture that Pass" contest is aiming to find the next image to be used on the Las Cruces District Office 2021 Annual Pass. The district office invites residents in the area to share a photo of their favorite site on BLM-Managed public lands on which to social distance.

Rules and how to enter:

Photos can be taken at sites on public lands managed by the BLM in the counties of Grant, Hidalgo, Sierra, Luna, Doña Ana and Otero.

Entries must be in color, shot horizontally and not smaller than 4-inches-by-6-inches at 300 DPI.

Participants can submit no more than two photos to dbarraza@blm.gov with a description, location and name of the photographer. The contest begins Oct. 14 and ends at 7 a.m. Nov. 11.

First place will receive one LCDO 2021 annual pass, valued at $30, that covers all-day use fees at Dripping Springs Natural Area, Aguirre Spring Campground and Three Rivers Petroglyphs.
