Evan Gilyard II lets it fly during New Mexico State's practice on Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa in Phoenix, Arizona.

LAS CRUCES – The New Mexico State men's basketball team returned to the court on Wednesday.

The Aggies paused all activities on Dec. 5 after a player tested positive for COVID-19, and they received an additional positive the following week. Wednesday's practice marks the team's first in 12 days.

With its quarantine now over, New Mexico State shifts its focus to scheduling games.

The Aggies don't have any non-conference matchups set in stone at the moment, leaving their WAC opener against Dixie State on Jan. 8, 2021, as the earliest game on their schedule.

New Mexico State is 2-0 so far this season with a pair of NAIA wins over Arizona Christian and Benedictine Mesa.
